The Life of Ogden Nash

Early Years
Born on August 19, 1902, by the name of Fredrick Ogden Nash.
Born in Rye, New York.
Raised in Rye and Savannah, Georgia.
Education
Went to school at St.George's School in Rhode Island.
Studied briefly at Harvard University.
His Work
Wrote for writing advertising copy for  Doubleday, Page Publishing in 1925.
Published his first children's book in 1925,  The Cricket of Caradon
First poem published in New Yorker Magazine in 1930: "Spring Comes to Murray Hill."
Joined New Yorker staff in 1932.
Married Francis Leonard on June 6,  1933.
Helped in the musical comedy, "One  Touch of Venus" in 1943.
Published 19 books of poetry.
Later Life
Elected to the National Institute of Arts and Letters in 1950.
Died in Baltimore, Maryland on May 19, 1971.
He was buried in North Hampton, New Hampshire.
